During a review or an audit and objection, it is usual to share information with the ATO. However, advisers need to be aware of some important issues when responding to an ATO request for information or otherwise providing information to the ATO.

During ATO reviews, we recommend advisers have a clear strategy – it is often a disadvantage to the taxpayer's position for taxpayer's and their advisers to be passive participants in the dispute process.
